Samaritan Eagles pack 200 shoe boxes for children in need

Last weekend, the Samaritan Eagles packed 200 boxes of gifts for children around the world for the Samaritan’s Purse Shoe Box Project!

Chapel Immersion Coordinator, Angela Harris, said that the boxes will be prayed over this Sunday in Chapel, then delivered to the Samaritan’s Purse Shoe Box Project in the afternoon.

Initially spearheaded by Kirsten W., the club was met with overwhelming excitement from other youth and staff on campus. Within the club, small groups were formed to focus on collecting specific items to fill the boxes like arts and crafts or toiletries. Once all of the items were collected, created and organized, boys, girls and Chapel staff gathered to fill the boxes.

“It has been amazing to watch Racheal King, Keely Miller, the chapel staff, house parents, teachers, many other staff, and 30 residents all come together to support Kirsten’s vision to give 200 children around the world a beautiful Christmas,” Harris said. “I can’t imagine a better way to bring this campus together or a better legacy for Kirsten to leave behind when she graduates this May.”

The Samaritan’s Eagles topped off the packing party with refreshments and camaraderie.
