So many thousands of people across all ages, genders and walks of life can look back on the weeks, months or years they spent living, playing and learning in our midst as the key moments that started them on a fantastic journey.

There was a time when the last thing Chase would have wanted to do was hold a door open for others. However, his time at Boys Ranch has helped him find the kindness buried within. 

Aletha came to Boys Ranch in 2018. Her single mother was struggling to make ends meet. The two relocated from Maryland to North Dakota to have a better life. Aletha knows she is loved deeply by a mother who works long, hard hours at a low-paying job — putting Aletha’s needs before her own.

“I completely enjoy working with young people. I love helping them with struggles and helping them discover their own talents. It’s rewarding when I see them start to set priorities for their futures.”

It takes good soil to grow good crops. It takes better choices to grow a good life. As Joshua learns the patience and determination to succeed, he’s learning to apply those lessons to his life, too.

At Boys Ranch, we know every child needs adventure in his or her life. The leaders of this organization know that opportunities to explore new areas and experiences, taking controlled, discernible risks and challenging the mind and body, children we serve can reach their God-given potential.

In a flowing white dress, Grace moved across the dark chapel stage lit by beautiful hues of purple and blue light. With her beautiful dance moves, some reminiscent of her childhood in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, she elegantly portrayed an angel in flight. 

As several of his peers milled around the rocket on the table, Devon, 18, intently listened as his mentor and rocket club coach Barre Wheatley reminded him what the next step was going to be to prepare the rocket for launching.
