Girlstown, USA, was part of the Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch organization from 1987 until 2019, though it began as an independent organization. Today, the Girlstown legacy of care lives on at Boys Ranch in the adolescent girls community.

Girlstown was established in 1939 by Amelia Anthony, who wanted to give homeless and troubled girls a chance. A Lubbock attorney, Tom Duggan, gave Anthony 1,425 acres of land near Whiteface, Texas, where cottages were built to house mostly teenage girls.

The Girlstown community included a chapel, a clinic and farm animals, and the girls attended school in Whiteface.

In 1992, Boys Ranch began accepting girls. By 2009, girls from Girlstown had begun living at Boys Ranch. By 2019, the Whiteface property was sold.
