"Are we really ready for this?"
"How would this affect our family?"
"Do we have the experience?"
"What happens when things get hard?"
Those are important questions, and you don’t have to have all the answers before taking the first step.
Family Bridge is designed so you don’t have to walk this journey alone.Family Bridge extends the mission of Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch into family settings, giving children the opportunity to experience the stability, consistency and connection of everyday family life.
Family Bridge Support Parents provide temporary care for children in their homes while partnering closely with Family Bridge staff and the child’s family.
Unlike traditional foster-care referrals through CPS or the courts, children served through Family Bridge are referred through Cal Farley’s own referral and assessment process by parents or guardians seeking help.Training & Preparation

Faith-centered encouragement and a community of people who can walk alongside your family. These support areas are reflected in the Family Bridge parent-support framework developed for recruitment and program descriptions.
You need a willingness to learn, the capacity to provide a safe and stable home, and a commitment to walking alongside a child through an important season of life.
Parenting experience can be helpful, but it is not always required. Family Bridge provides training, coaching and ongoing support to help prospective parents prepare.
And finding the right fit matters. During the home-study and licensing process, families identify the ages and types of children they feel equipped to care for, and Family Bridge thoughtfully matches children with families based on readiness, capacity and best fit.
