Intake, Information and Referral
Often the first contact that a family in crisis has with our organization is through the Intake, Information and Referral office in Amarillo, Texas. Here, we are able to gather information and assess the situation to determine whether or not the child is an appropriate candidate for our basic care campuses.
If the child appears to be a candidate for Boys Ranch or Girlstown, the Intake, Information and Referral staff will assist the family through the intake process.
If the child is not a candidate for Boys Ranch or Girlstown, the staff will provide referrals to reputable agencies that may be better equipped to meet the needs of the child.
When appropriate, the family may be referred to one of our Family Resource Centers. The FRCs in Amarillo, Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio are equipped to help families through intensive in-home services, which sometimes help parents realize that placement of their child outside of the home may be premature.
