Vocational Skills
The campus vocational skill programs integrate training in appropriate skills and work ethics. Residents learn skills, such as landscaping, horticulture, irrigation and livestock management. The opportunities to work with electricians, plumbers, carpenters, butchers and painters are also available.
Boys and girls also can obtain experience in auto body repair and mechanics, building trades, clerical support, farm and ranch operations, health services, housekeeping and laundry operations.
These programs help the youth prepare themselves for future careers.
Youth 14 and older are eligible to participate. Work mentors are the primary trainers and participants earn an allowance for their participation in the program.
