Family Resource Centers - Examples of Assistance

Following are several examples of the assistance provided to families through our FRCs:

• Assisted families that had lost financial support in locating and moving into alternative housing.
• Coordinated services with variuos community resources to help families become self-sufficient again.
• Coordinated efforts between Child Protective Services and families.
• Provided case management services to help families access Food Stamps and Medicaid.
• Provided school supplies for children remaining in a home.
• Provided transportation and support services to allow families to spend Christmas and summer breaks together.
• Assisted families to avoid financial crisis situations by developing and following a budget.
• Assisted parents in GED class enrollment.
• Provided transportation to assist families in accessing community resources.
• Provided holiday assistance for families.
• Provided financial assistance with rent and utilities to families in danger of becoming homeless.
• Assisted families with completing necessary paperwork during times of crisis.
• Provided support for parents and encouraging them to seek services related to their own psychological and health needs.
• Provided coaching, mentoring and family support.
